How to create Motion Blur in Premiere Pro CC (Without Using After Effects)

In this V.E.A. tutorial, were going to show you how to create motion blur within Premiere Pro CC, without having to open After Effects.⁣

Try adding "Motion Blur" to your edit and see what happens! You'll quickly notice that it's one of the best ways to convey a sense of movement.

Editor's Note:⁣
In this example were adding motion blur to a text layer, but it can also be added to a photo, graphic etc.⁣

Step 1:⁣
Create a text layer using your "Type Tool".⁣

Step 2:⁣
Search for "Transform" under your "Effects" tab (don't worry about capitalization).⁣

Step 3:⁣
Drag the effect onto your text layer.⁣

Step 4:⁣
Scroll down to the SECOND "Transform" property under "Effects Control".⁣

Step 5:⁣
Toggle the "Position" animation on and create a keyframe.⁣

(A "Keyframe" is a location on a timeline which marks the beginning or end of a transition)⁣

Step 6:⁣
Click the "Step Forward 1 Frame (Right)" button five times.⁣

Step 7:⁣
a) Create a second keyframe.⁣
b) Click the "Go to In (Shift + I)" button to go back to your first frame.⁣
c) Use the transform "Position" to move your text out of view.⁣

Step 8:⁣
Uncheck "Use Composition Shutter Angle".⁣

Step 9:⁣
Type "180" as the new Shutter Angle.⁣

Step 10:⁣
Preview your text layer in the "Program Monitor".⁣

Motion blur in Premiere Pro has now been achieved!⁣
